Radiology Specialist Dr. Gail Weingast Makes Her Profession Better
Dr. Gail Weingast has certainly come a long way since 1969, when, as a young woman, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish from Jackson College at Tufts University, in Medford, Massachusetts. Perhaps her choice to become a doctor wasn’t a childhood dream. However, it wasn’t long before medicine became a career because she did earn a medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine and earned the right to be referred to as Dr. Gail Weingast MD in 1976.
Of course, as is the case for all doctors, medical school was just the beginning. Not long after that, Dr. Gail Weingast started her medical journey by completing several internships and residencies in pediatrics and radiology at Colorado General Hospital in Denver, before she completed her post-graduate studies as a radiologist at St. Anthony’s Hospital, also in Denver. She then practiced in several hospitals in Colorado and New York before finally becoming a highly regarded radiology specialist at Norwich, Connecticut-based William W. Backus Hospital. She’s been there for more than a couple decades and she is their Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging. She also has been instrumental in turning her department into one of the elite facilities in New England and beyond.
